There are a range of small “boot” scooters that are designed to easy dismantle into the boot of a car and many of the larger scooters have seats that come off so that they can be put into the back of an estate car or people carrier with the assistance of a pair of ramps.

Powered wheelchairs also require the assistance of a pair of ramps to put into the back of an estate vehicle or a people carrier.  Many of the power chairs have lightweight aluminium frames that are easy to lift and some frames do fold for transportation.  Larger more specialised powered wheelchairs however do require a more adapted vehicle.
