What will you use the grab rail for?

Some rails are multi purpose, others are intended for very specific purposes

What wall are you fixing the rail to?

Grab rails are only as strong as the wall to which they are fixed, and the fixings that are used. Ensure you use the correct type of fixing for the material of the wall.

Where will you be placing your grab rail?

Make sure you measure how much space you have before buying a grab rail

Is an extra grip important?

Some rails are designed to offer you extra grip. A fluted grab rails has extra grip because it is grooved.

Are you able to fix the rail in place?

Most rails have to be drilled to be secure. If this isnt possible or inconvenient you could consider alternatives such as a suction rail or a bath rail that grips around the taps instead.
